Firefighter Injured Battling Auto Shop Blaze In Bergen County: Officials
A firefighter was injured battling a fire at an auto repair shop in Bergen County on Thursday.

FORT LEE, NJ — A firefighter was injured battling a three-alarm fire at an auto repair shop in Fort Lee on Thursday, prosecutors said.
The blaze started just before 4:30 p.m. at Smile Auto Services on Bergen Boulevard, said Jeff Angermeyer, the deputy chief of detectives for the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
The Fort Lee Police Department and Fort Lee Fire Department notified the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Arson Squad that a firefighter had sustained non-life threatening injuries, Angermeyer said.

The Bergen County Arson Task Force and arson investigators responded to the scene to assist local fire officials, he said. The investigation is ongoing.
Fort Lee police sent a message to the public around 6 p.m. saying, "We have an active structure fire on Bergen Boulevard which is being handled by the Fort Lee Fire Department. Bergen Boulevard is closed by Edsall Boulevard and the Route 1 South ramp to Bergen Blvd."

Drivers were told to avoid the area of the shop, located at 1440 Bergen Blvd.
