This Weekβs Cheapest Gas Prices
Prices hold steady for two weeks since state hit $3 a gallon average for regular gas.

It has been two weeks since New Jersey joined 30 other states and Washington D.C. in reaching a statewide $3.00 average for a gallon of regular gasoline, according to the AAA Fuel Gauge Report released earlier this month. And it appears prices have remained at just about that level since the state reached that dubious milestoneβthe first time it has since March of 2008.
For those looking to save every penny they can on gas locally, here is a breakdown of some of the cheapest and most expensive prices for a gallon of gas at pumps in Fort Lee:
- The cheapest regular gas in Fort Lee as of Wednesday morning was going for $2.959 per gallon. Head to Rt. 46 for that price, where it can be found at the BP station at 1480 Rt. 46 and the Exxon station at 1549 Rt. 46.
- The award for the cheapest gallon of premium WEdnesday goes to the Sunoco station at 1630 Bergen Blvd., where you can expect to pay $3.159 per gallon.
- Looking to save on diesel? Try Lukoil at 2284 Rte. 4, where a gallon will cost you $3.199.
Just a handful of local pumps were charging slightly over the statewide $3 average for a gallon of regular Wednesday. You might avoid Lemoine Ave., Palisade Ave. and Anderson Ave. if you're looking to save every penny you can. Most stations along those major thoroughfares are charging just over $3 a gallon.
