MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — The NJ Department of Environmental Protection has declared an Ozone Action Day for Monday and Tuesday in Monmouth County.

Sensitive individuals, including the very young, the elderly and individuals with respiratory diseases such as asthma should avoid strenuous activities during the afternoon and early evening hours, according to officials.

Hot and humid conditions are anticipated across NJ on Monday, with temperatures reaching the upper-90s, mostly sunny conditions and southwest winds.

On Tuesday, officials said temperatures are forecast to reach 100 degrees in central portions of the state, with continued sunny conditions and southwest winds.
