Clarksburg Man Accused of Assaulting Officer

Freehold Township police arrested a Clarksburg man on multiple charges including threatening a police officer.

Thadious Hamlin, 21, of Clarksburg, was arrested on four different charges including one count of aggravated assault on a police officer and one count of obstructing a police investigation on Dec. 22. 

Michael Smith, was the arresting officer. According to the complaint warrant, Hamlin physically resisted a uniformed police officer while being arrested. He also allegedly attempted to punch the officer several times, and stated  “Wait till I get my gun. It only takes one black man to end the white race,” to the officer. 

The obstructing a police investigation charge came from Hamlin allegedly attempting to walk away from the police officer after an erratic driving complaint.

Hamlin was arrested and sent to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $16,000 bail.
