Hurricane Edouard Predicted To Stay Well Out To Sea

But rough surf expected along Jersey coast by middle of the week

Hurricane Edouard should not pose a threat to the New Jersey shore, but rough surf is expected around the middle of the week, according to AccuWeather.com.

“By the middle of this week, bathers should expect rough surf conditions with the danger of strong and frequent rip currents from Cape Cod to northeastern Florida,“ said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski.

Rough surf may pose a problem for area beaches, since most lifeguards are not on duty at this time of the year.

Edouard strengthened from a tropical depression to a hurricane late Sunday morning, forecasters said.
