Ross Licitra Announces Re-Election Bid For Monmouth Commissioner

FREEHOLD, NJ — Monmouth County Commissioner Ross Licitra will seek re-election to the County Board of Commissioners, he announced Monday.

"My sense of equality, public safety, and the overall well-being of the entire county will always be my guide,” he said in the announcement.

Licitra, a Republican, is currently serving his first three-year term on the Board of Commissioners, and has worked with his fellow commissioners "on keeping government spending stable while still providing valuable services to the community," his campaign said in a news release.

The general election is Nov. 7. The primary election is June 6.

Licitra is the Monmouth County Parks liaison and has worked closely with the Monmouth County Parks System on many projects, including the preservation of hundreds of additional acres within the parks. He is directly responsible for the implementation of new security systems within the parks and trails to help keep park visitors safe, the campaign said.

A lifelong resident of Monmouth County, Licitra lives in Marlboro. He is a retired police officer, serving for over 30 years, and, according to his Facebook page, served in both the county prosecutor's office as a detective and for the West Long Branch Police Department. Since 2015 has led the Monmouth County S.P.C.A. as the executive director.

“I am extremely proud of my many years of public service. Serving as your county commissioner for the past two years has been one of the greatest honors of my life and I will continue to always serve my community honestly and with conviction," he said.
