Empty School Bus One Of Three Vehicles In Freehold Twp. Accident

Freehold Township police said a traffic accident on Route 9 Thursday afternoon briefly disturbed traffic but caused no injuries.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A school bus with no students on board was involved in a three-vehicle crash on Route 9 Thursday, but no serious injuries were reported, police said.

Freehold Township police responded to the intersection Route 9 and Elton Adelphia Road at approximately 2:51 p.m. for the report of the accident, said Detective Lt. Joseph Winowski of the township Police Department.

"Upon arrival it was quickly determined that there were no children on the school bus and no serious injuries were sustained to anyone involved," he said in response to an email.

He said traffic was delayed in the area temporarily while the crash was investigated.
