Dump Truck Crashes Into NJ Home, Injures 2
An 80-year-old man sustained injuries after a dump truck crashed through his house in Egg Harbor City on Monday, police said.

EGG HARBOR CITY, NJ — An 80-year-old man was one of two individuals who sustained injuries after a dump truck crashed through his house in Egg Harbor City on Monday morning, police said.
Christopher Purks, 31, was driving west on the White Horse Pike near Bremen Avenue around 7:45 a.m. when the rear of his car was struck by a commercial dump truck owned by Hammonton-based J. Domenico & Son Excavating.
Purks’ vehicle veered off the road from the impact, police said. Purk did not report any injuries as a result of the crash.

The dump truck driven by Rogelio Serrano, 69, of Vineland continued west on the White Horse Pike across eastbound lanes of traffic, police said.
The dump truck jumped a curb, continued through a field and collided with trees in a wooded area before it crashed through a house at 1500 White Horse Pike, police said.

Richard Beck, 80, the homeowner and sole occupant of the house at the time of the incident, was sitting on the first floor when the truck crashed through the east side of the home.
Serrano and Beck were taken to the hospital by first responders for reported minor injuries.
As of Monday afternoon, Beck was cleared to be released from the hospital, police said.
White Horse Pike was closed on Monday morning between New Orleans and Bremen avenues, Egg Harbor City police said. Further investigation of the crash is pending.
