Atlantic City Prepares To Implode Former Trump Casino
The former Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino will be imploded Wednesday at 9 a.m. The event can be viewed virtually or in-person at Bader Field.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — The former Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City will be imploded Wednesday at 9 a.m.
The public can watch the implosion from a designated public viewing site at Bader Field or watch a livestream of the event on Atlantic City's website and Facebook page.
Attendees at Bader Field will be allowed to watch from outside their cars, but they must remain next to their car and maintain space between other viewers, city officials said.

"Knowing that there’s a worldwide pandemic at its height, we encourage people to social distance, keep your mask on,” Small said Wednesday during a news conference.
The field's gates will open at 7 a.m. and attendees must pay $10 per car to enter. Small said the special event parking fee is required by a city ordinance.

The charity auction launched in December for the opportunity to press a demolition button was called off last month due to safety concerns by Carl Icahn, the owner of the building.
Small said Icahn replaced the auction’s highest $175,000 bid to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City.
Atlantic City police released a map detailing roadway and sidewalk closures to be put in place Wednesday. Closures will begin at 6 a.m. and are expected to reopen by 1 p.m.
Authorities announced the following closures:
- Pacific Avenue east bound will be detoured at Georgia Avenue. Traffic will be sent north to Atlantic Avenue.
- Pacific Avenue west bound will be detoured at Arkansas Avenue. Traffic will be sent north to Atlantic Avenue.
- Mississippi Avenue between Atlantic Avenue and the Boardwalk will be closed.
- Columbia Place between Pacific Avenue and the Boardwalk will be closed.
- Missouri Avenue between Atlantic Avenue and the Boardwalk will be closed.
- The Boardwalk and Beach between Georgia Avenue and Arkansas Avenue will be closed.
Atlantic Avenue will remain open to all traffic, police said.
