Boy, 10, Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Car: Police
A 10-year-old year boy was struck by a pickup truck Tuesday while crossing Spruce Avenue in Egg Harbor Township, authorities said.
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 10-year-old year boy was struck by a pickup truck Tuesday while crossing Spruce Avenue in Egg Harbor Township, authorities said.
Police responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Spruce Avenue at 4:52 p.m.
A 27-year-old Egg Harbor Township man was traveling northbound on Spruce Avenue in a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck near Fourth Avenue when he struck a 10-year-old boy crossing Spruce Ave.

The boy walked directly into the lane of travel before he was struck by the pick-up truck, police said. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to Cooper University Hospital via helicopter.
Traffic on Spruce Avenue was detoured for about two hours during the investigation.

The crash is still under investigation by Officer Ben Kollman of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
