Man Pointed Gun At Bar Patron Outside Hi-Point Pub: Absecon PD

A Galloway man was charged with various weapons charges after he pointed a gun at a patron outside the Hi-Point Pub, police said Monday.

ABSECON, NJ — A Galloway man was charged with aggravated assault and other weapons charges after he pointed a gun at a patron outside the Hi-Point Pub, police said.

On Oct. 20 just before 5 a.m., officers responded to the Hi-Point Pub.

Michael C. Ciarla, 28, approached the victim in the parking lot. According to police, Ciarla brandished a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The victim was able to flee unharmed.

Responding officers located Ciarla hiding under a trailer at a nearby business. After a brief stand-off, Ciarla was taken into custody and a handgun was recovered, police said.

Ciarla was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of weapons and possession of weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Ciarla was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
