​New York Man ID’d In Fatal Atlantic City Shooting: Prosecutor

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit has identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Atlantic City on Friday.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit has identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Atlantic City on Friday.

Dameer Smith, 25, of New York City died from a single gunshot wound, the ACPO said.

Atlantic City police were notified of a shooting on the 1300 block of Pacific Avenue on Friday at 9:27 p.m. The Atlantic City Police Department and EMS responded to the scene.

Smith was found on the street with a gunshot wound, authorities said. The man was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus where he was pronounced deceased.

This investigation remains active by the ACPO Major Crimes and Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit.
