Pedestrian 'Critical' After Being Struck While Crossing Galloway Road: Police

The pedestrian was crossing S. Pomona Road Tuesday night when he was by a driver, Galloway police said.

GALLOWAY, NJ — A man is in critical condition after being struck by a car while crossing a Galloway road late Tuesday night, police said.

The man, Domingo Lopez-Lopez, was found unconscious and unresponsive lying in the southbound lane of S. Pomona Road around 11:10 p.m. July 29, Galloway police said.

Preliminary investigation found that the driver was heading south in the outside lane when he struck Lopez-Lopez, who was walking west in the middle of the road toward Langley Avenue, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division, where he was critical as of Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The crash is under investigation; police did not say if the driver was facing any charges or citations.
