Six Injured in Route 9 Crash at Somers Landing Road
The Thursday evening crash closed Route 9 for about 45 minutes.

A 2008 Dodge Caliber driven by a New York woman was making a left turn onto New York Road (Route 9) at about 6 p.m. Thursday when it was struck by another vehicle, Galloway Township police said in a news release on Thursday.
The driver, Madeline Perez, 32, of the Bronx in New York, and five of her passengers were transported to hospitals. The crash closed Route 9 for about 45 minutes on Thursday evening.
According to the police report, Perez's car made the left turn onto Route 9 in front of a 2006 Blue Dodge Dakota driven by Ryan Tarby of Galloway Township. Tarby's truck was unable to avoid the collision and struck the car in the side, police said.

Tarby was uninjured. The driver and passengers transported for care are as follows:
- Madeline Perez, minor hip/shoulder injury, transported to ARMC-Mainland
- Jocelyn Perez, chest pain, knee/hip, transported to ARMC-City
- Aljandra Perez (34), head and leg injury, transported to ARMC-City
- Two juveniles, 3 and 6 years of age, seatbelted in the rear seat were transported to ARMC City Division for head, neck, and abdominal injuries.                       Â
