Somers Point Man Killed In Pleasantville Shooting ID’d

Ivan Smith, 41, of Somers Point was shot and killed Saturday morning in Pleasantville, officials said.

PLEASANTVILLE, NJ — A 41-year-old Somers Point man was identified as the person who was shot and killed Saturday morning in Pleasantville, officials said.

Pleasantville police received a shot spotter alert and 911 call in reference to a shooting incident at 914 N. Main Street at 9:19 a.m., according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Ivan Smith was laying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound when police arrived, officials said.

Medical personnel also responded to the scene and performed CPR, but were unable to revive Smith. He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The shooting remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.
