South Jersey Man Charged With Murder Of Atlantic City Man

Prosecutor says Shamal Harvey, 23, shot Alexsander Campbell, Jr. 25, on May 14

MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic City man has been charged in the May 14 fatal shooting of another city man, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said.

Shamal Harvey, 23, is in custody for the homicide of Alexsander Campbell, Jr., 25. Harvey is charged with first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Tyner said.

Members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene just before 6 p.m., in the area of 1001 North Michigan Avenue. Campbell, who had been shot, was taken to the AtlantiCare Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries, Tyner said.
