Two Injured, Turtle Unharmed, in Route 30 Crash
Wednesday evening crash in Galloway Township shuts down two lanes of the White Horse Pike for about an hour.

What started on Wednesday evening with drivers trying to avoid a turtle crossing the White Horse Pike ended up in a crash involving three cars and two injured people.
A 2010 Infinity driven by Miguel Higgins of Willingboro was slowing with westbound traffic on Route 30 at Knight Avenue as vehicles attempted to avoid a turtle in the roadway, according to a news release from the Galloway Township Police Department.Â
A 2001 Mazda driven by Dominique Flipping of Mays Landing then struck the Infinity from behind. The Mazda went on to cross the center line into oncoming traffic and strike a Ford driven by Julio Pagan of Sewell, police said.

The Ford lost control striking a utility pole and driving through a billboard before coming to rest on the south side of Route 30.
Both occupants of the Infinity were taken to ARMC Mainland Division by Galloway Township EMS. Their injuries did not appear serious, police said.

 The turtle was located unharmed under the Infinity. It was released into the woods by police.
Both left lanes of Route 30 were shut down for approximately an hour while the vehicles and debris were removed after the 4:58 p.m. (July 10) accident.
The driver of the Mazda is being changed with careless driving. Officer Steve Garrison is investigating the accident.
