1-Mile Run In Honor Of Fallen Cop Coming To Deptford

The run, which will take place at Rowan University this week, will honor Deptford Police Officer Robert Shisler, who died earlier this month

DEPTFORD, NJ - A one-mile run in honor of a fallen South Jersey police officer is coming to Rowan University this week, event organizers said.

Florida-based nonprofit organization Running 4 Heroes Inc. announced Saturday via Facebook that a one-mile run in honor of Officer Robert Shisler will take place on May 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the campus.

Shisler was shot March 10 during an on-duty altercation, which also resulted in a civilian's death that day. He died May 7 after weeks of South Jersey communities rallying in support of the officer's recovery. Read more: Deptford Community Continues To Rally Around Officer Bobby Shisler
