2 Families Displaced In Gloucester Township Apartment Fire

Four individuals from two families were displaced during an apartment fire in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township, officials said.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ - Four individuals from two families were displaced during a Sunday apartment fire in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township, officials said.

The fire was reported at around 1:30 p.m. at the Hilltop Apartments on North Blackhorse Pike, the Blackwood Fire Company said in a statement.

Upon arrival, first responders found an active fire on the second floor of the apartment complex. The fire was placed under control within 20 minutes, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported, though two families were displaced as a result of the fire, the New Jersey Red Cross said in a statement. The agency provided emergency assistance for temporary lodging, food and clothing needs for the four affected individuals.

the fire is under investigation by the local fire marshal.
