CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — The Fabulous Thunderbirds concert that was scheduled for Thursday night at Cooper River Park has been canceled due to inclement weather in the forecast, county officials announced Thursday afternoon. It has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 3.
“Forecasts currently project strong thunderstorms for our region tonight, including heavy wind and plenty of rain,” Camden County Commissioner Deputy Director Ed McDonnell, liaison to the Department of Special Events, said. “While we are always focused on bringing Camden County residents a variety of new, exciting activities during the summer, our first priority is always the safety of our guests and residents. The show has been rescheduled for a date later this summer when conditions are hopefully safer.”
There is a chance of widespread thunderstorms with dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning, especially after 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, with predicted rainfall amounts ranging between a quarter and half inch. Expect temperatures near the low 70s heading into the evening.
