“We are increasingly hearing from residents who are concerned that the Delta variant is putting the progress we’ve made in jeopardy,” Camden County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “We are seeing more cases than we were a month ago, but we are in much better shape than we have been at any other point in this pandemic. Still, the fact is that people are continuing to get sick and die because of COVID-19. The vast majority of these people are unvaccinated. We saw numbers fall last summer without any vaccinations, and that was followed by a massive spike in the winter. If you’re not vaccinated, don’t take this break for granted. Get protected as soon as possible.”
