Pedestrian Critical After Hit-And-Run In Gloucester Twp: Police

A pedestrian is in critical condition following a hit-and-run incident on Sicklerville Road in Gloucester Township.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A pedestrian is in critical condition following a hit-and-run incident that took place on Sicklerville Road in Gloucester Township Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

The victim was hit just before 4 p.m., Gloucester Township police said Tuesday night. After striking the pedestrian, the car fled the scene, and the victim was left with serious injuries to the lower body, police said.

Passing drivers stayed with the victim until police, fire and EMS arrived, police said. Once stabilized, the victim was taken to Cooper Hospital by EMS, and was listed in critical condition Tuesday night, police said.

Sicklerville Road was closed south bound between Stone Bridge Road and Jarvis Road for about two and a half hours during the initial stages of the investigation. The victim has not been identified.

Witnesses described the striking vehicle as a white Ford work truck/van with Pennsylvania
Registration, driven by a White or Hispanic male with dark hair and beard. The vehicle had a ladder rack and enclosed cargo area with "Reading Ready Van" written on the side.

The suspect vehicle may also be missing the passenger side mirror and have passenger side front end damage. It was last seen on Sicklerville Road, crossing southbound over Berlin Cross Keys Road, police said.
