Fire Rips Through Black Horse Pike Auto Shop

Investigators spent Monday morning searching for clues as to what caused a damaging fire at Performance Motors Automotive, located at 1106 N. Black Horse Pike, overnight.

The fire was reported around 4 a.m.

Based on photos posted to the Gloucester Township Police Department's Facebook page, it appears the fire started in the business office.

Firefighters hacked through the bay doors to the building to battle the blaze.

Police and investigators from the Chews Landing Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office were still on scene Monday morning around 8 a.m.

The fire occurred just across the Black Horse Pike from an October 2011 blaze that destroyed a commercial building at 1201 Old Black Horse Pike.
