Five Things You Need to Know
Wrestling, hoops and new things make up this week's "Five Things."

1. The NJSIAA Region 8 wrestling tournament, which got underway at Egg Harbor Township High School Wednesday night, includes 17 wrestlers from Highland, Timber Creek and Triton—12 of them from Timber Creek.
To advance to regions, a wrestler must finish first, second or third in his weight class at districts. Seventeen Black Horse Pike Regional School District student-athletes did just that at Overbrook High School this past weekend.
District 30 includes nine high schools.

3. The two schools' girls' hoops teams will be among 16 squads vying for the South Jersey Group III title.
Like their male counterparts, the Lady Tartans and Lady Chargers also begin the playoffs on Tuesday.
No. 7 Timber Creek, which clinched the Olympic Conference Patriot Division with a win over Shawnee Wednesday evening, will host No. 10 Cherry Hill West, beginning at 4 p.m.
No. 12 Highland will travel to Tabernacle to take on No. 5 Seneca. Tip is scheduled for 5 p.m.
4. (New Thing No. 1) GloucesterTownship.Patch.com's "Whiz Kids" article is new to the website.
We began featuring the township's extraordinary youngsters three weeks ago with a Timber Creek Regional High School student who scored a perfect 800 on the SAT's math section. We've since let you know about a 9-year-old girl who sells her artwork to benefit a sick young boy and an 10-year-old girl who gets all "A's" and placed third in a regional spelling bee.
The article is posted each Wednesday at noon.

5. (New Thing No. 2) The township's official website now has a feature called GT Citizens Access, which, among other things, features live video of Township Council meetings.
Check it out Monday night at 7:30 p.m. That is, if you just can't make it in person.
