Five Things You Need to Know
A charter school is coming, and the week ahead for your Highland and Timber Creek hoops and wrestling teams.

1. A charter school is coming to the township under Gov. Chris Christie's plan to reform education in the state.
Word that 23 new charter schools statewide had been approved came from Trenton Tuesday.
The township's Kingdom Charter School would house a total of 210 students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade.

2. The Timber Creek Regional High School boys' and girls' basketball teams will be in the same gym for a rare doubleheader at Woodrow Wilson High School, in Camden, Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Chargers take the court against the Olympic Conference foe at 3:45, while the boys begin battle with the Tigers at 5:15.
The boys' team returns to the court Tuesday at home against Shawnee, beginning at 5:15 p.m. The girls' team will travel to Shawnee Tuesday to take on the Renegades, beginning at 3:45 p.m.
3. Highland's girls' team, riding a five-game winning streak, returns to the court on Tuesday, when it hosts Williamstown.
The Lady Tartans, after a tough 1-6 start, now find themselves at .500.
4. Timber Creek's wrestling squad takes on Williamstown at home Friday at 7 p.m. before traveling to Bishop Eustace Saturday to take on Cherry Hill High School East and Eustace in a tri-meet Saturday at 3 p.m.
Highland's D.J. Gore goes for his 100th career coaching win tonight when the Tartans travel to Clearview. The meet begins at 6:30 p.m.
The Tartans wrestling team returns to the mats Saturday with a busy day that features matches against Haddon Heights, Schalick and Lindenwold. The tournament will be held at Schalick, in Pittsgrove Township, beginning at 11 a.m.
Highland also faces off against Maple Shade at home Monday, beginning at 7 p.m.
5. The township council meets Monday night at 7:30 at the municipal building.
