Head-On Crash Sends 2 To Hospital In Gloucester Twp.: Police

One of the drivers failed to maintain their lane and drove into oncoming traffic, authorities said.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two people were injured in a head-on crash early Monday in Gloucester Township, police said.

Two vehicles collided just before 12:30 a.m. in the intersection of Blackwood-Clementon Road and Peters Lane.

One driver caused the crash by failing to maintain their lane and crossing into oncoming traffic, police said.

Both drivers were injured and brought to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment. There were no passengers in either vehicle, police said.

The vehicles were heavily damaged.

Police withheld the drivers' identities on Monday.

The investigation remains active, and no criminal charges were filed as of late Monday morning.

Blackwood-Clementon Road was temporarily closed between Erial and Little Gloucester roads as police investigated the scene.

"The Gloucester Township Police Department emphasizes the importance of road safety for all motorists," the police agency said in a statement. "Safe driving requires constant attention, adherence to traffic laws, and responsible behavior on the road. Practicing defensive driving and maintaining vigilance can prevent serious crashes and save lives."
