Man Fatally Struck By Vehicle On White Horse Pike In Camden Co.: Police

The man was airlifted from the scene.

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, NJ — A driver fatally struck a man who was walking on the White Horse Pike on Friday in Winslow Township, authorities said.

Police identified the deceased man as Andre R. Keith, 46, of Trenton.

A person lying in the roadway was reported at 10:55 p.m. Friday around the 600 block of the highway. Police determined that the pedestrian — Andre R. Keith, 46, of Trenton — was hit by a vehicle that was traveling eastbound.

Keith had been walking in the roadway near an intersection, police said.

The driver immediately stopped and remained at the scene, authorities said. Police withheld their identity.

Keith was treated at the scene and then airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.

The White Horse Pike has long been considered a dangerous highway. Eight people, including five pedestrians and a bicyclist, were killed in crashes on the highway in 2023. A safety initiative for the roadway was launched last year.
