A Thursday house fire in Mantua is currently under investigation by township fire officials, authorities said.
MANTUA, NJ - A Thursday house fire in Mantua is currently under investigation by township fire officials, authorities said.
At around 8 p.m., firefighters from the Mantua Township Fire Department were dispatched to the 500 block of Breackneck Road for a reported dwelling fire, the fire department said in a statement.
“Chief 2201 arrived to a 1 1/2 story dwelling with smoke showing,” the fire department said in a statement. “Crews extinguished fire on the exterior while interior crews opened up the ceiling, exposing the attic where heavy fire was discovered and extinguished.”

No injuries reported in connection with the fire. It’s unclear if the homeowners were present at the time of the fire.
The origin of the fire is currently under investigation by the Mantua Township Fire Marshal's Office.
