Why are you seeking elective office?

I have lived in Gloucester Township my entire life. I have seen the township grow and change. I attended both Triton and Highland high schools. My children attended Highland and Timber Creek. I am very familiar with the schools from a parent viewpoint. Since I am a former teacher, I also am familiar with education from that viewpoint. My past experience on the board is very valuable, since we have made great progress in giving our students the best education.

The single most pressing issue facing our board is:

The effects of COVID-19 on our staff and students

This is what I intend to do about it:

Our board is offering support to students and staff to help them bridge the gap caused by the pandemic. We have tutoring as well as remedial programs. We also have social and emotional support for staff and students.

Equality in education: We have Equity HQ which is working with staff and the board and the students to show empathy as a beginning to reaching equity. If we learn to listen and understand other people’s feelings, we can start to care and value them.

Experience: I have experience as a board member. I have learned so much from our administrators and staff. I hope to continue the progress that I have been honored to have been a part.

Equality in education: I have supported our staff and administration in the endeavor called Equity HQ. We have also started the CARE program as an alternative programs for those students who need a different approach to their education. Our Job Training II program is terrific. Both are housed at Camden County College.

School funding: Our district has maintained a quality education for all students without raising taxes. We use state and federal monies and grants to their fullest.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I have proven to be a responsible board member that supports students, staff, and administration while being fiscally responsible.

The best advice ever shared with me was: do what is right in your heart.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I have worked and supported the children of Gloucester Township for many years. I have been on the Board of Directors for Highland Youth Soccer Club since 1997 and South Jersey Girls Soccer Club since 2010.
