NJ Police Officers Deliver Baby In South Jersey Home Thursday
It's a boy! Two police officers helped a woman in labor deliver the healthy newborn Thursday afternoon, the police department said.
VENTNOR, NJ - Two police officers helped a woman in labor deliver a baby boy at a South Jersey home Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
Shortly before 4 p.m., Ventnor City police officers Ptl. Blake Ballin and Sgt. Marc Franco Jr. responded to an ambulance call for a 34-year-old woman in labor, the Ventnor City Police Department said in a statement.
Ballin and Franco assisted with the delivery and helped to welcome the baby boy into the world, adding that mom did an "amazing job."

“It’s not everyday our officers get to be a part of such a special moment,” Vetnor Chief Joseph Fussner said in a statement. The dedication and ability to stay calm in an extraordinary situation speaks volumes of Patrolman Ballin and Sgt. Franco Jr.”
Both mother and child were taken to a local hospital by Ventnor City Fire Department following the delivery.
