Movie Night in the Park, Sounds of Summer Return This Week

Several events stick out this week as dates to circle on the calendar.

The Sounds of Summer concert series returns at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Camden County College Blackwood campus with country singer Sherry Lynn. Lynn, a Nashville recording and country music artist, is about to release her second album, Beautiful Life.

On Wednesday, the 3-H Senior Club will meet at the Hider Lane Senior Center. The meeting features lunch, socializing and bingo.

The Lorax animated film will be featured at Movie Night in the Park Thursday. The film will be shown on a giant screen at Veterans Memorial Park on Chews Landing Road next to the municipal building. The rain date is July 19 and the event is free.

Also on Thursday, the township Economic Development Corp. will hold its monthly meeting at 8:30 a.m. at the municipal building. It's a meeting attended by local business owners and the public.

The Blackwood Farmers Market is open on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It's located in the Blackwood Public Library parking lot on the Black Horse Pike.

The market is open every Saturday from June 29 to September 28, rain or shine.

Municipal meetings this week include the township council at 7:30 p.m. Monday; the planning board at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and the zoning board at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. All the meetings are at the municipal building on Chews Landing Road near Hider Lane. Click here for the council agenda.
