CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Here's a list of upcoming events in Camden County, courtesy of our friends at Visit South Jersey, the official Destination Marketing Organization for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties, and the Outer Coast Plain Wine Region in South Jersey.
The Historical Society of Haddonfield presents the Haunted Haddonfield Walking Tours during October. Tours will be held on Oct. 29 and 30, with a rain date planned for Oct. 31. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. Proceeds benefit the Historical Society of Haddonfield. This year, all tickets must be purchased online in advance. Each tour will be limited to 40 participants, and no tickets will be sold on-site to allow us to strictly limit our group sizes. The Eventbrite ticketing system will only offer tickets that are still available; if your first-choice date is sold out, try another date. In addition, all ticket-holders ages 2-and-up will be required to wear a face covering to participate, and social distancing between household groups is encouraged. Participants will be able to hear well thanks to the tour's audio tour system. Ticket-holders will meet in front of Greenfield Hall, 343 Kings Highway East in Haddonfield. The Battleship New Jersey will host a Candy for Kids event on Halloween Weekend, Oct. 30 and 31, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids touring the Battleship can get a treat of packaged candy for Halloween. Just stop in the Battleship Gift Store in the Visitors Center after your tour. Haddonfield Plays & Players presents “Sleepy Hollow” daily at 5 p.m. through Oct. 29. Haddonfield Plays & Players brings the story of “Sleepy Hollow” to the streets of Haddonfield. Set against the historic backdrop that is Haddonfield, New Jersey, this show will immerse you into the iconic tale of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman. Is this show a ghost tour? The second annual Haddyween celebration in Downtown Haddonfield will take place from Oct. 16 to Oct. 31. Haddyween is a family oriented Halloween celebration that represents the roots of Downtown Haddonfield and its beloved hadrosauras bronze sculpture, “Haddy.” Local restaurants, businesses, organizations and residents are invited to enjoy the spirit of the holiday with these beautiful happenings. The fourth Family Game Night at Haddon Square takes place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday night. There is something for everyone to play – easy board games, word games, even a vibrant game of Pictionary. For those who enjoy more active games, there’s Badminton & Cornhole set up. Each week is a little different, but a sample of the games they’ve played include: Ticket to Ride, Exploding Kittens, Taco vs Burrito, Bananagrams, card games, and more including classics like Sorry, Life and Clue. William Heritage Winery in Haddonfield hosts Harvest Weekend from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Voorhees Township’s annual Halloween and Fall Festival will be held on Saturday at The Voorhees Town Center, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This is a family event with free admission, free parking at 2120 Voorhees Town Center, Voorhees, NJ 08043, and features the Voorhees Business Association pumpkin patch, hayrides, teal pumpkin table, parade, pumpkin decoration station, balloon artist, candy, music and much more. The Camden County History Alliance invites the public to join them for Camden County History Month in October, when 30 participating historic sites and history organizations throughout Camden County will be open with special exhibits, reenactments, and guided tours for adults and children.
