Webb Named All-American

Timber Creek defensive tackle Greg Webb will be formally introduced as a U.S. Army All-American at a press conference at the Erial school on Monday.

Webb is the second Timber Creek player to garner All-American honors in the past two seasons. Linebacker Quanzell Lambert, who is now playing for Rutgers, was picked for the inaugural Junior Rank Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl last season.

Webb, a senior who had previously committed to Penn State, plans to attend the University of North Carolina and play football there along with fellow Timber Creek defensive lineman Dajaun Drennon.

Webb was an integral part of a defense that led Timber Creek to the 2011 South Jersey Group 3 title. The Chargers went 12-0, completing the championship run with a 33-7 win over Hammonton.

Rivals.com currently ranks Webb as the ninth best defensive tackle prospect in the nation and the fourth best overall Class of 2013 recruit in New Jersey.

Webb has missed Timber Creek's first three games of the season while recovering from knee surgery. He is expected to return to practice in the first week of October, coach Rob Hinson told the Courier-Post.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game will be played Saturday, Jan. 5, in San Antonio, TX.
