Whiz Kids: This Week's Is a Scoring Leader
Timber Creek's Jasmine Martin set a school record for girls' basketball career scoring last week.

- Whiz Kid's Name - Jasmine Martin
- Whiz Kid's Age - 17
- Whiz Kid's School - Timber Creek Regional High School
- Whiz Kid's Accomplishment - Martin became the all-time Timber Creek girls' basketball career scoring leader Thursday night. She scored her 1,689th point in the first half of the Lady Chargers' 43-41 loss to Lenape, passing Nakita Wasko's five-year-old mark.
- Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness - Martin is a tenacious scorer who uses her speed to her advantage, penetrating the lane at will to get close to the basket for high-percentage shots. When the defense isn't giving her an inch, Martin still somehow finds a way to slash to the bucket or to get free for jumpshots. She is also known for attacking the boards—looking more like a forward than a guard—and for playing solid defense. A senior at Timber Creek, Martin has committed to Quinnipiac (CT) University.
