LINDENWOLD, NJ — A woman went missing days after traveling from India to the United States for a reported arranged marriage, according to a Lindenwold police, who were searching for her on Thursday.

Simran Simran, 24, was reported missing on Wednesday, officials said.

She arrived in the United States on Friday for a reported arranged marriage, police said. Police were also told that the marriage may have been used for free airfare to the U.S.

Police reviewed surveillance footage of Simran looking at her phone and waiting for someone. She did not seem to be in distress in the video, police said.

Simran has an international phone that only works on Wi-Fi. She also does not speak English, police said.

"At this time there are no known family members in India to contact to obtain her possible whereabouts," Lindenwold police said around 2 p.m. Thursday.

Simran is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds, police said. She has a small scar on the left side of her forehead.

She was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, a white t-shirt, black flip flops and small diamond-studded earrings, police said.
