Drug Charges For Woman Who Drove Into Building: Hackettstown PD

Police say the woman was under the influence at the time of the crash.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A Califon woman faces several drug charges after driving into a Hackettstown building in October, Hackettstown police said.

Anne George, 28, was arrested this week charged with possession of heroin, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of hypodermic syringe, failure to produce insurance card, possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, driving while under the influence, reckless driving and careless driving in relation to the Oct. 26 crash.

According to police, George drove into a car parked along Main Street, drove off the roadway, and drove into 227 Main Street, causing minor damage. George was taken to the hospital after complaining of neck pain.

Police say George was under the influence at the time of the crash, and had 24 glassine bags containing suspected heroin, three glassine bags containing suspected heroin residue and a hypodermic syringe.

George was arrested on Nov. 5 and taken to the Warren County Correctional Facility.
