Drunk Driver Hit Mailbox, Cop Car: Hackettstown PD

No one was injured in the two crashes, police said.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Hackettstown police say an alleged drunk driver hit a mailbox and fled before eventually hitting a police car.

Diana Conklin, 59, of Dover, is accused of being drunk when driving along Route 604 on Friday. Police say she hit a mailbox and drove away. When she was located by a cop further down the road, Conklin put her car in reverse and hit the police car, police said.

No one was injured, police said. Conklin was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, reckless driving, and careless driving. She was released pending a court appearance.
