Friends Remember Blair Academy Student Who Died During Skiing Trip

Friends remember Juliette Dajani fondly on social media.

BLAIRSTOWN, NJ — Friends of a student at Blair Academy who died Monday night after a skiing accident took to social media, remembering her as a positive person with a bright future.

"Blair Academy is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our student, Juliette Dajani, as a result of a skiing accident on Monday evening," Christopher Fortunato, the head of the school, said in a statement sent to Patch. "As a community, we are collectively grieving this loss, and we ask that you respect the privacy of our students, teachers and families as they continue to cope during this difficult time."

Counseling will be made available to all students, a representative for the school told Patch.

Juliette Dajani, 15, from Singapore, was on a school ski team trip to Shawnee Mountain Ski Area in Pennsylvania when the accident occurred, WNEP reported.
Dajani reportedly lost control and skied off the bottom of a trail, ABC 6 reported.

She died at a nearby hospital, and the death was ruled an accident from blunt force trauma.

Students took to social media to remember Dajani.

"Of course, her beauty, talent, intelligence – all of it was recognised and appreciated, but it was her approach towards people, that made us all fall in love with her," a friend wrote in a blog post. "Despite being such an excelled young girl, she never let that sense of pride consume her. She had always been so grounded and approachable, I doubt it was possible to ever dislike her."

Patch has reached out to Shawnee Mountain Ski Area officials for comment but has not yet heard back.
