Fundraiser For NJ Teen Killed In ATV Accident Exceeds Goal
Over $11,000 has been raised so far for funeral expenses in memory of José Carlos Peréz Garcia, 18, of Hackettstown.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — He is being remembered as a “very dedicated student” who planned to become a mechanic, a fundraiser started for his funeral expenses.
José Carlos Peréz Garcia of Hackettstown, 18, was tragically killed this past Saturday in an ATV accident near Gibbs Road in Allamuchy, the accident still under investigation, WRNJ reports.
Peréz Garcia’s vehicle reportedly overturned, according to the New Jersey State Police, Peréz Garcia succumbing to his injuries on Sunday.

A GoFundMe fundraiser in his memory, written in both Spanish and English, about Peréz Garcia’s passing, shares more about him and his family’s anguish.
“José was a very dedicated student, his greatest desire was to become a professional mechanic,” wrote organizer Sandra Peréz of Andover. “At this moment he leaves his parents Abundio Perez Perez and Rocio Garcia and siblings with their hearts devastated.”

“We ask you to join us in prayer for his eternal rest, we thank you with all our hearts for the financial support for funeral expenses,” she wrote.
