Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?
Literacy in the U.S. is at a crisis level. Lexis McCoy spearheaded the 2023 Literacy Institute Conference at Centenary University, bringing in 100 NJ educators for a full-day session to learn what they can do about literacy and engagement.
Not only does she teach the Master's Degree in Literacy at Centenary, but she also hosts public reading events in the University library for local children and their parents.
