Hackettstown Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Girl, 13

Ahmed Hansford, 19, allegedly engaged in sexual activity with a Bergen County girl.

A Hackettstown 19-year-old has been accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old Bergen County girl.

Ahmed Hansford was charged Wednesday with one count each of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal sexual contact.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, the Lodi Police Department arrested Hansford after learning he engaged in sexual activity with a 13-year-old acquaintance.

The victim on Tuesday told a New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency caseworker of the sexual activity, the prosecutor's office said.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit and the Lodi Police Department interviewed the victim and launched an investigation that resulted in Hansford's arrest.

Hansford was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of $151,000 with no 10 percent option.

Hansford, who was ordered to have no contact with the victim, is scheduled for arraignment on Feb. 12.
