Man Shot Windows At 4 Hackettstown Businesses, Police Say
The man allegedly caused over $2,000 worth of damages.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — An Allamuchy man was arrested after allegedly shooting at the windows or doors of three local businesses and one moving car over the course of six months, police said.
Todd Bechtold, 46, faces over two dozen charges, including aggravated assault and possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose in connection to the damages. Police say the incidents took place beginning in April, with the most recent one at the end of October. Bechtold was arrested on Nov. 8.
Police did not say exactly what type of object was used to damage the buildings, but described them as "projectiles" and "round objects." They did not say if the objects were any type of bullets or if they were something else.

Marley's Gotham Grill had $1,151 worth of damage done to its front window on April 16. A&S Cleaners saw $346 worth of damage to their front glass door on May 17. On July 11, Creative Twist Hair Salon sustained $626 of damages to their front window. The Looks Barber Shop was damaged on Oct. 12, sustaining $996 worth of damages.
On Oct. 30, Bechtold is accused of shooting out the window of a car that was driving on Route 517 near Mars Wrigley. The driver of that car was not injured.

Bechtold is charged with aggravated assault and five counts each of unlawful possession of an air gun, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and criminal mischief.
