Nor'easter Leaves Around 5 Inches Of Rain In Hackettstown
The National Weather Service predicts a possibility of up to another two inches of rain by the weekend.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Exeeding the initial predictions of the storm, the Nor’easter that drenched the Hackettstown area on Monday night and throughout Tuesday dropped close to five inches of rainfall in some spots.
Showers could possibly return on Friday, according to the National Weather Service, with up to another inch or two of rain coming.
New Jersey’s Department of Environmental Protection’s Water Monitoring and Standards tracked the rainfall totals near Hacketttstown at the monitoring station by the South Branch Raritan River finding 3.69 inches in the storm's 48 hours, 1.21 inches of rain having fallen over the last 24 hours of it.

However, at the Pequest River monitoring station near Glen Meadows, the rainfall measured within the storm's 48 hours showed 4.58 inches of rain, 1.67 inches over the final 24 hours.
For Thursday, the National Weather Service forecasts temperatures in Hackettstown are expected to rise to about 60 degrees, under mostly sunny skies and winds at 5 mph, after a cooler night at 43 degrees.

On Thursday night, the National Weather Service forecasts temperatures to fall back to 46, the winds also remaining calm at 5 mph.
On Friday, showers could return after 2 p.m., under mostly cloudy skies, a high of 55 predicted, with showers throughout the day potentially dropping up to another inch or two of rainfall by Friday night, with a low of about 47 degrees.
For Halloween weekend, more showers may fall on Saturday before 2 p.m., with a high of 60 degrees and Saturday overnight, a possibility of rain and low of 48, before temperatures may rise on Sunday for trick-or-treating to a high of 60 degrees, under mostly cloudy skies.
