Hinrichs, Sheldon Win Hackettstown Council Race

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Hackettstown voters elected Town Council and Board of Education members during Tuesday's general election. Official vote totals came in over a week after polls close.
Three candidates are running for two open seats on town council: Democrats Robert Hinrichs, and Mark Gillan, and Republican Scott Sheldon. Incumbent Sheldon, who on his re-election campaign will be jointed by Hinrichs on the town council.

- Robert HINRICHS 1,375
- Mark GILLAN 1,347
1,499 voters purposely "undervoted," meaning they did not select two candidates.

Incumbent Republican Jim Lambo ran a write-in campaign, and earned over 304 votes (several write-in voters misspelled his name, counting as separate votes).
Unofficial vote totals remained too close to call on Election Night. Official vote totals include in-person, mail-in and provisional ballots and are certified by election clerks. Patch did not receive official vote totals until Nov. 16.

Four candidates are running for three seats on the Board of Education. The unofficial vote results, with projected winners in bold, are:
- Amy A. COCHRAN 1796
- Jami CAVANAGH 1644
- Shawn BURKE 1592
- Gus BORDI 826
Cochran and Burke are incumbents; Cavanagh is a newcomer. Bordi, who is not projected to win, is also an incumbent.
