Route 517 Road Work to Resume Monday
Inclement weather puts stop to construction activities.

Road work on Hackettstown's Route 517 will be stopped for the rest of the week because of pending inclement weather, according to Hackettstown Police Sgt. Darren Tynan.
Construction activities, which began on Monday and were scheduled to continue throughout the week, will resume on Monday, Tynan said. Work is being done from 9 a.m. to approximately 7 p.m. on construction days.
During construction, milling and repaving will be done from Main Street (Route 46) to the train tracks near Miller street. Detours will be in effect for all southbound traffic from Bilby Road (Route 665) to Willow Grove Street (Route 604) to Main Street (Route 46), according to police. Miller Street and Bilby Road residents who need to access businesses between the two roads, and traffic from Mars Chocolate North America, will be able to use High Street. Northbound traffic will also be accessible on High Street and all trucks traveling north will be detoured to Willow Grove Street.
On-street parking in those areas will be prohibited during construction and "No Parking" signs will be posted. Officers will be available to assist with traffic, police said.
