Teen Assaulted Hackettstown Cop: PD
The teenager shoved a cop after he was reported missing in a neighboring town.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A local teenager was charged with assaulting a police officer after being reported missing last week, Hackettstown police said.
The teenager from Independence was reported missing on June 19. Hackettstown police found the 16-year-old near the Hackettstown-Independence border; the teen jumped the creep and ran behind homes on Hamilton Drive.
Police caught up to the teenager on Fourth Street, and the teen pushed a police officer. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and obstruction. He was released to an adult pending an upcoming court date.
