Enjoy A Community Barbecue Party

The Hackettstown Elks Lodge #2331 is hosting a Father’s Day Barbecue Party on Sunday from noon until 3 p.m. at 210 Mountain Avenue. Dads and kids under 12 are free, with everyone else $8 per person. While the food lasts, burgers and hot dogs will be on the grill, snacks and drinks will be available too, for a picnic on-site or to go.

Shop At A Farmer’s Market

Warren County has several community farmers' markets that have begun making their weekly appearances for the season, as well as the multitude of local farm stores, with their own markets throughout the county, with local produce, meats, dairy, honey and other items.

The Warren County Farmers Market is on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., every Saturday through Sept. 26, at the White Township School at Routes 46 and 519, with local farmers and artisans out with produce, baked goods, products, live music and more. Visit their Facebook Page for details.

The Blairstown Farmers Market at 5 Stillwater Road is also on every Saturday through October 30, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Various farms and other sellers are there weekly with produce, pickles, gourmet mushrooms, empanadas, baked goods, pasta, honey and other items.

The Washington Borough Farmers’ Market celebrates its opening day with a Greenfest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine at 44 East Washington Avenue. Music, arts and craft vendors, environmental displays, Juneteenth activities at Kids R People 2 and the Farmers’ Market itself, round out the day.

Visit A Water And Amusement Park

The Land of Make Believe opens daily for the season from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, at 354 Great Meadows Road in Hope.
There’s fun for everyone whether one hits the pirate-themed water park, free with paid admission and for all age groups. The Twisted Timbers roller coaster and Scream Machine, are among the thrilling rides. An Off-Road Safari is one of the activities to round out the fun.

Take In A Car Show

Good Will Fire Company #1 is hosting its first car show on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 689 Water Street in Belvidere. Over 200 cars, motorcycles, pickup trucks, Jeeps and other rides are expected at the show, with hot dogs, burgers, sausage and pepper sandwiches for sale; and Belvidere’s Ambulance Company serving up lemonade at the event. Wine And Beer Tastings, Plus Special Events

Depending on his tastes, Dad can grab a wine or beer throughout the county, with Warren County overflowing with vineyards and craft breweries.

The Four Sisters Winery features wine tastings on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. They have a Father’s Day BBQ with the Billy Joel Tribute Band, “You May Be Right,” from noon until 4 p.m. on Sunday, with limited seating. Barbecued ribs and roasted pork are among the fare, with other fixings and dessert. Click here for tickets.

Villa Milagro Winery at 33 County Road 627 in Phillipsburg boasts wine tastings every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Since the vineyard doesn’t serve food, guests are welcome to bring along snacks and even a picnic basket, for carry/in, carry/out service.
Villa Milagro is also hosting the “Loud Guitars, Big Cigars & Ugly Ties” Father’s Day event on Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m., with the Kerry Blue Band, Big Cigars from Center Street Cigars from Clinton and Dads encouraged to wear their ugliest tie for prizes. Children are welcome on Sunday and families can bring a blanket, shade umbrella and their lawn chairs. Grills will be there for guests to cook up their own grilled fare or attendees can stop to the Warren Glen Deli or Borderline for pizza, if they’d like to carry in foods on the way. Reservations are required, with $15 per person to enter, children under 15 are free.
Hop aboard the “wine train,” a vintage steam engine that departs from Lehigh Junction Station at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday and on Sunday at 11 a.m. For the adults-only, all-inclusive cost, guests will enjoy a guided ride along the Delaware River, tour of the winery, hors d’oeuvres and a souvenir wine glass.

Jersey Girl Brewing at 426 Sand Shores Drive, Czig Meister Brewing at 106 Valentine Street and Man Skirt Brewing at 144 Main Street are just a few choices in Hackettstown with craft beer tastings.
Invertase Brewing Company is another craft brewer on 51 Broad Street in Phillipsburg.
Buck Hill Brewery & Restaurant at 45 Route 94 in Blairstown, offers American Craft Beer and Food.
