Weather Clears After Henri Churns Through Hackettstown
Sunny skies are now expected through Friday following flooding, power outages and other challenges from the weather.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — After Tropical Storm Henri was downgraded to a Tropical Depression, leaving behind some sogginess on Monday, the National Weather Service predicts skies to be sunny, with spots of clouds here and there, through Friday.
The National Weather Service reported on Monday that Henri had weakened in terms of its initial impact as a tropical storm - and in some places a hurricane - to a Tropical Depression.
Before departing Hackettstown, Henri left some of its wrath behind.

According to the State of New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection Water Monitoring & Standards, which has been tabulating rainfall totals, near the South Branch Raritan River Upper - not far from Hackettstown - found that from Saturday to early Monday evening there had been 5.12 inches of rain at that location, with 3.02 inches from Sunday to early Monday evening; and .11 inches in total as of late Monday evening.
Nearby the Hackettstown area by the Pequest River, Water Monitoring & Standards had found that from Saturday through Monday evening there had been 4.23 inches of rain at that location, with 2.64 inches from Sunday to early Monday evening and .02 inches during the day on Monday.

Hackettstown Police stated there could be some flash flooding, with Hackettstown having been under a flood advisory, cautioning social media followers to not drive through flooded areas.
If flooding occurs in Hackettstown, according to the National Weather Service, it may crop up in areas with poor drainage or near small streams and creeks.
As Henri fades away, it leaves behind the possibility that there could be up to a tenth of an inch of rain before Tuesday, perhaps higher if there are thunderstorms in Hackettstown.
Sunny skies are predicted to return to Hackettstown for Tuesday through Friday, which can help to dry up conditions slightly, with a high of 87 degrees on Tuesday, 89 on Wednesday, 88 on Thursday and 85 on Friday.
The National Weather Service forecasts that there could be a chance of rain showers again this coming Saturday.
