Weapon Carrying Hackettstown Teen Arrested After Attempted Break In: Police
Washington Township (Warren) police said they found Zachary Tanis, 19, nearby hiding underneath a work trailer.
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.– Washington Township (Warren) police said they arrested a 19-year-old Hackettstown man, who was carrying a weapon, after he tried to break into a Rt. 31 home in the borough on Saturday.
Zachary Tanis was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, obstruction, weapon possession, resisting arrest and simple assault, Lt. John Kaufmann said.
Tanis was being held in Warren County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bail, according to Kaufmann.

Officers and Washington Township's K-9 Unit found Tanis nearby hiding underneath a work trailer, Kaufmann said.
Tanis broke into the home but fled prior to police arrival, Kaufmann said.
