Bandits Caught on YouTube Video Released With Court Date
The Pennsville couple allegedly filmed stealing a donation can from Jamaican Me Crazy was charged and released.
The Pennsville couple arrested Friday for stealing donation cans from three Kings Highway businesses was released with a court summons, without bail.
A Haddonfield police lieutenant said the couple, who allegedly stole $148 by swiping three donation cans on Saint Patrick's Day, did not have outstanding warrants and were charged with an offense that allowed them to walk with a municipal court date.
Angeline Marie Johnson, 47, and Patrick Novak, 56, both of at 1 Victory Ave., Lot 26, Pennsville, were charged with receiving stolen property. The pair was allegedly caught on two security camera videos stealing donation cans.

One of the videos, shot at Jamaican Me Crazy gift shop, was posted on YouTube by Furrever Friends, the charity for which the donations were meant. That video helped identify them.
An off-duty Collingswood police detective was shopping in the 400 block of Haddon Avenue here Friday afternoon when he spotted the suspects. He called dispatch and Haddonfield police had Novak and Johnson in custody within minutes. He told officers he recognized the couple from the YouTube video, Haddonfield police said.

The municipal court date for Johnson and Novak was not immediately reported by police.
